The Entrepreneurship Mentor Program (EMP) is hosted by the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University, Fresno. EMP is available to students seeking to build skills that will enable them to be successful entrepreneurs. While not limited to students in the entrepreneurship option, those who have declared the option as their chosen field of study will have priority in the application review.
The Entrepreneurship Mentor Program is designed to give students an accelerated development in the five most critical skills: leadership, vision, selling, networking, and team-building. Up to 20 students spend two semesters in the program meeting weekly in a seminar to learn directly from entrepreneurs and community leaders. The seminars include "unplugged" presentations, professional development workshops, social events, field trips, and the Johnson O’Connor Aptitude test www.jocrf.org Each student is matched with a community mentor who serves to counsel and support the pursuit of entrepreneurship.
